Uchigumori — Medium++

194×67×24mm — Sides and base sealed by hand with Japanese urushi lacquer.

A medium-hard Ohira uchigumori, silvery overall — and the one that works on everything. There is no metal it dislikes.

The core comes up to an almost semi-mirror and the clad holds a fine haze rich in micro-detail — depth and contrast in both tone and texture. It doesn't need finger stones to build contrast; only finer ones to even the surface. KREAM Detail can go on directly after it.

On honyaki it brings both hagane and jigane to a surface rich in detail. The hagane can take softer finger stones afterwards if you want more brightness — but that is a preference, not a repair.
