Notes from use — Black slurry in a few strokes. The feedback is very direct: glassy and gentle at the same time.
A hard, dense Ozuku: 2.91 g/cm³, where almost all Japanese natural stones sit between 2.5 and 2.8 (the extremes run from 2.2 to 2.95). Water hardly penetrates it, so you won't need much, and it rarely needs flattening, so you can work the geometry precisely. With a knife, you need neither a nagura nor a fine diamond plate.
Edge — mirror on core measured at 3.36 / 5:
Top performance on the finest edges — ura, special food cutting, fine tools, razors — and the base for the highest-contrast kasumi polish.
