The highest purity on a Mizukihara uchigumori, heavy aka renge throughout.

Medium-hard, smooth across the whole face — and the one that works on everything: clad, wrought iron, tamahagane, damascus, honyaki, even stainless.

The core comes up to a bright semi-mirror. The clad holds an even, bright haze with no reflectiveness in it, and real clarity on rewarding metals like wrought iron or tamahagane. On clad, nothing needs to follow.

On honyaki it brings hagane and jigane both to a detailed, very clean surface. Softer finger stones on the hagane if you want more brightness, a light pass of Zero on the jigane, and the work is done. It works perfectly on honyaki — it just isn't only for honyaki: the stones I reserve for kasumi on honyaki only run slightly softer.
